Thursday 11 May
Travel: Grafton to Tamworth
Accommodation: Tamworth Golden Guitar Motor Inn – 4 Star (M/T, L) (1 night).

  • Depart at 7 am from Library, Pound Street, Grafton.
  • We will enjoy a delicious morning tea at Ebor Hotel provided by Chris & Annie
 McLean.
  • Ebor Falls.
  • Followed by a visit to ‘Thunderbolt’s grave & lunch at Uralla McCrossins Mill Museum—Thunderbolts life with a local tour guide.

Day 2
Friday 12 May
Travel: Tamworth to Gulgong.
Accommodation: 
Gulgong Motor Inn/Goldfields Motor Inn – 3 Star (FB, L, D) (1 night).

Saturday 13 May
Travel: Gulgong to Dubbo

  • A private tour of Gulgong Holteman Museum.
  • After that, free time to explore Gulgong CBD.

  • Our accommodation is 
only 650m from the Old Dubbo Gaol and shopping centre. Plus, across the road 
from the Dubbo RSL Club for our group Dinner.

Day 4
Sunday 14 May
Accommodation: Dubbo Zoo – 3 Star (FB, M/T, D) (1 night)

  • Dubbo Zoo.
  • Taronga Western Plains Zoo. Our coach will provide a ‘Hop on, Hop off ‘mode of exploring the zoo. The Coach will drive from one animal encounter to another with ‘Friends of the Animals’ tour person. On arrival, enjoy free time to settle into your Zoofari Lodge, a unique accommodation setting overlooking the African Savannah. Zoofari Lodge consists of 15 African-style tented lodges (10 Animal Views, 5 Bushland Views) located close to the main house, where you will find a fully licensed restaurant, bar & lounge room. OR the Stylish & spacious Savannah Cabins with an outlook across natural grasslands. Each cabin features 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. Set 400 metres from the main house.
  • Highlights of our overnight stay at the zoo: Afternoon Safari Tour – see an array of African animals, including exclusive behind-the-scenes areas. Including hand feeding Giraffes.

Day 5
Monday 15th May
Travel: Dubbo Zoo to Cobar.
Accommodation: Cobar Town & Country Motor Inn – 4 Star (FB, L, D) (1 night).

  • 6.55am – Our Early Morning Safari behind-the-scenes at Dubbo Zoo. An African-inspired buffet breakfast awaits you on your return to the main house.
  • Travel west to explore Trangie & to see the Big Billy at the Goan water hole.
  •

Day 6
Tuesday 16 May
Travel: Cobar to Broken Hill (stay 6 Nights).
Accommodation: Old Willyama Motor Inn – 4 Star (FB, L, D) (night 1 of 6).

  • After a short walk on the Wilcannia Bridge, we will enjoy a Chinese banquet-style lunch with four people at a table at the M & J Kitchen Restaurant at Wilcannia Golf Club.
  • Orientation tour of Broken Hill.

Day 7
Wednesday 17 May
Accommodation: Old Willyama Motor Inn – 4 Star (FB, D) (night 2 of 6)

  • Broken Hill 
City Sights Tour with ‘Jump on Board’ local guide, Irving Blundell.
  • Line of Lode Miners’
 Memorial. Visit the 1915 Battle of 
Broken Hill Replica ice cream cart + more.
  • Free time at the 
Westside Plaza Shopping Centre.
  • We complete our day with a Heritage Tour and Dinner at The Palace Hotel. Famous from the 1994 film “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” & its grandiose murals which adorn its interiors.

Day 8
Thursday 18 May
Accommodation: Old Willyama Motor Inn – 4 Star (FB, L) (night 3 of 6).

  • Lake Menindee Day Tour – Accompanied by local guide Irving Blundell. We visit Cappy Hollow Lookout.
  • Enjoy our one hour aboard the ‘River Lady’, Darling River and Menindee Lakes cruise.
  • Lunch at the 1853 Historic Maiden’s Hotel (the 2nd oldest hotel in
continuous operation in NSW.
 Maiden’s features a display of artwork by renowned area artists and photographs depicting the building of the Menindee Lakes Scheme.
  • Free time this evening. Dinner at leisure.

Day 11
Sunday 21 May

  • Today is our last day exploring Broken Hill, with its colonial history dating back to the 1880s.
  • We partake in a private tour of the Sulphide Street Railway 
& Historical Museum.

  • This afternoon a private guided 
tour for an unforgettable experience 
at the Royal Flying Doctors – the first
 Flying Doctor flight and the foundations that became one of the most innovative aeromedical organisations in the world.

Day 12
Monday 22 May
Travel: Broken Hill to White Cliffs.
Accommodation: White Cliffs Underground Motel (FB, M/T, L, D) (1 night).

  • We bid farewell to the historical Broken Hill & make our way east to Wilcannia Park for M/Tea.
  • Then we travel north West to enjoy lunch at White Cliffs Outback Store. This afternoon, local guide Rob will provide an in-depth history of White Cliffs with a tour of a
 private dug-out house with artwork 
& spectacular views.
  • Time is
 allocated to visit Opal shops.
  • NB: Our accommodation at the White Cliffs Underground Motel is 1 of the most unique properties & has shared bathroom facilities to the front of the property; there are no private ensuites.
  • Opportunity to view the sunset over the top of Smiths Hill from the rooftop.
  • Dinner onsight.

Day 13
Tuesday 23rd May
Travel: White Cliffs
 to Cobar
Accommodation: Cobar Town and Country Motel – 4 Star (FB, L, D) (night 1 of 2)

Experience an Underground Opal Mine
Tour, Home to the pineapple opal. 
Followed by an early lunch at Red
Earth Opal Coffee house before we make our way to Cobar for two nights.

Travel: Moree to Grafton

 where you will be pleasantly surprised with all that it has to offer.
  • Enjoy lunch, the museum, private zoo, gardens and much more at Green Valley Farm.
